Clubhouse Android app now available globally: How to download

Clubhouse is now available for Android users. The app is still invite-based so you will have to join the waitlist or get an invite from existing users.

Clubhouse is finally available on Android months after launching on iOS. Android users across the world can download the Clubhouse app from the Google Play Store. The “drop-in audio chat” app has been making waves for the past couple of months with popular global brands bringing their own versions as well.

Clubhouse earlier this week announced it would roll out its Android app globally today, and the launch was confirmed through the app’s Twitter account. The app is available to download in the Google Play Store. It’s the first app in the search results for Clubhouse by Alpha Exploration Co., and not the one by Clubhouse Software Inc. which managed to confuse quite a few Android users before.

WhatsApp is testing message reactions — you might soon be able to react to messages with heart, laugh, like and other emojis

WhatsApp is working on a new feature called “message reactions.” The feature in itself is not new as it’s available on popular messaging apps like Messenger, iMessage, Twitter and Instagram DM as well.  WhatsApp  is now testing this feature which is still in its early stages of development. Message reactions on WhatsApp are expected to work similar to other apps like Messenger and Twitter. You can react to a message with emoji and the ones usually available are heart, laugh, angry, smile, like or dislike. We don’t know how message reactions on WhatsApp will look like but WABetaInfo  confirmed  the feature is in testing. A screenshot provided by the blog showed a message that reads, “You received a reaction. Update your version of WhatsApp to see reactions.” It’s not surprising that WhatsApp decided to bring message reactions to the app seeing how it has been releasing a host of  new features  and experiments. WhatsApp recently rolled out a couple of ...

Apple accuses Microsoft of using Epic in legal attack

Apple made the accusations Wednesday night in a filing asking a judge to make an adverse credibility finding against Lori Wright, an Xbox executive who testified in the trial on behalf of Epic. Apple Inc. injected a new level of intrigue in its bitter court fight with Epic Games Inc., suggesting the Fortnite maker was acting as a stalking horse for Microsoft Corp. and withholding evidence. The iPhone maker made the accusations Wednesday night in a filing asking a judge to make an adverse credibility finding against Lori Wright, an Xbox executive who testified in the trial on behalf of Epic. That would mean the judge could ignore her testimony. Apple asked for such a ruling earlier, but upped its accusations in the new filing. “A reasonable observer might wonder whether Epic is serving as a stalking horse for Microsoft,” Apple said. “Microsoft shielded itself from meaningful discovery in this litigation by not appearing as a party or sending a corporate representati...

Amazon and Facebook to fall under new G7 tax rules

Facebook said it welcomed the progress made by the Group of Seven on a minimum tax rate and accepts this could mean the social network pays more tax, and in different places. Both Amazon and Facebook will fall under new proposals for a global minimum corporation tax agreed by the Group of Seven on Saturday, United States Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said. The joint statement by G7 finance ministers earlier on Saturday said it would tackle tax avoidance by "the largest and most profitable multinational enterprises". Amazon has lower profit margins than most other tech companies, and European countries had been concerned it would escape extra taxation under initial U.S. proposals to the G7. Facebook welcomes the progress made by the Group of Seven on a minimum tax rate and accepts this could mean the social network pays more tax, and in different places, its head of global affairs Nick Clegg said on Saturday. #staydopetech #Abishekpersonal
